❊ About Brittney

My name is Brittney and I’m the founder and owner of Blooming Keiki Speech! I was born and raised in Kaneʻohe, HI and always knew that I’d one day serve the community that helped me grow. At first, I thought that would be through being a child therapist, leading me to earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Portland. Halfway through though, I had the opportunity to observe a speech language pathologist at a preschool while visiting home for the summer. And from there, I knew that’s what I was meant to do!

Switching gears, I went on to earn a 2nd bachelor’s degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences and then my master’s degree in Medical Speech Language Pathology from the University of Washington. I then moved to Colorado for my clinical fellowship at a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation clinic. Concluding my year long fellowship, I obtained my Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech and Hearing Association. Between working at an autism center, an inpatient pediatric cancer care unit, and several outpatient pediatric clinics, I gained wonderful clinical experiences in the mainland that I aimed to bring back home with me.

In 2023, I finally was able to return home and work in early intervention services for children 0-3 years old! Through this job, I found my passion in working with young children to help them find their voice and aimed to one day open my own private practice specializing in this population. And now it’s finally here! When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, eating at all the good local food spots, going to K-Pop dance classes, and traveling.
